Due to the high competitive ticket-market, the airlines´ tolerance on excess baggage dropped down to zero. In many cases you´ll be charged an expensive fee already from on the first kg of excess baggage. But especially on longer trips the allowance of 20 kg is simply not enough and for sport-vacations (skiing, golfing, surfing, horse-riding, mountain-climbing, etc.) it is simply impossible to stay within the allowance.
